The April 8, 2024 total solar eclipse crossed North America from Mexico through the United States and into Canada, with totality lasting up to about four and a half minutes depending on location. It was the last total solar eclipse visible from most of the contiguous United States until 2044.

The anticipation leading up to totality, followed by the sudden darkness and breathtaking view of the solar corona, created a memory that words can scarcely capture.
